Taste of The Danforth Toronto

YA!
Taste of The Danforth is a big street party celebrating Greek food and culture, it also celebrates Canada’s multiculturalism. You actually get to feel Greek for the day.

Organised by Greektown on the Danforth BIA,Taste of The Danforth is Canada’s biggest street festival, a 3-day event that takes place once a year along Danforth Avenue.
Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau
Danforth Avenue is in the Greek town area of Toronto, Canada. With a turnout as high as 1.6 million visitors over the course of the 3 days, vehicular traffic is usually officially closed. Paid parking is available but it is best to use public transportation.
The 25th edition took place from 10-12 August 2018. I went on the 11th and guess who else came on the 11th, Prime minister Justin Trudeau.
A lot of vendors and restaurants set up food stations along the over one and a half kilometres length of Danforth Avenue and visitors are spoilt for choice.
There was so much food on display and restaurants on Danforth avenue were offering sample plates of their food for below $6, but the lineups were super long some winding on itself.
There were giant gyros everywhere, snacks filled showcases offering Baklava, Cannoli, Loukoumades and Kataifi.
Also, Sweet Corn, Souvlaki, Spanakopitas, roast quail, fresh greek salads etc.
There were stage and street performances, prizes, fun activity area for kids, street dancing, sports, arts etc.
Three weeks earlier, precisely on the 22nd of July, there was a mass shooting on Danforth Avenue, killing 2 or 3 people and injuring more. Below is a memorial for the victims.
